Welcome to the Curtiss-Wright Hangar Project
On a small active airstrip in downtown Columbia, South Carolina you will be aloft in tradition and the wonder of flight. In 1903, only seconds after Orville and Wilbur Wright became airborne on the beach of Kitty Hawk, NC a great tradition of aviation promotion had begun. Their namesake legacy lives on, 84 years after its original construction, The Curtiss-Wright Hangar is being preserved and restored to become a restaurant, special events/banquet venue and intimate SC Aerospace Museum.
As if time has stopped, imagine the ability to immerse yourself into the living, breathing pages of our history books; to walk, dine and celebrate in the very footsteps of Great American figures such as Amelia Earhart and Franklin Roosevelt. Experience the Curtiss-Wright Hangar.
